Sweet and Sour Sauce

Don't go and buy a jar of sweet and sour! The processed kind contains preservatives and chemicals. Whip up a batch at home, using all real ingredients and be happier and healthier. #SweetandSourSauce #SweetAndSour #DippingSauces #Sonomnom4u #sonomnom


1/2 cup pineapple juice

1/2 cup brown sugar

4 TBSP water

3 TBSP cornstarch

3 tsp rice vinegar

1/4 tsp salt


In a small saucepan (with burner turned off), add pineapple juice, water, cornstarch, and rice vinegar. Whisk until mixture is smooth and cornstarch is well blended. Add brown sugar and salt and whisk until everthing is smooth.

Turn on burner to medium and continue whisking slowly to keep the thickening process evenly distributed. When sauce is thick, pour into a small container and cover.

Refrigerate at least 1 hour or until cold all the way through before serving.

Serve with Egg Rolls, Chicken Strips, Crab Rangoons, or anything else you love to dip!
